Plain talk about clinical research
Root to Rx helps patients, caregivers, and the merely curious make sense of how medicine actually gets made, and how to tell a careful claim from a confident one.
Medicine comes wrapped in jargon, hot takes, and headlines that contradict each other by the week. Most people are left guessing. Root to Rx exists to close that gap. We turn how clinical research really works into clear, honest explanations, plus free tools you can use at your next appointment. We understand that significant barriers to bringing future generations of treatments to market are the lack of awareness about clinical research, misinformation about the pharmaceutical industry at large, and people not being able to find the trials in time while they meet the eligibility criteria.
Who's behind it. Root to Rx is created by Justin Yamashita, MSc., a clinical research professional with hands on experience at the lab bench, at the trial site as a coordinator, and at the CRO level across Phase I, II, and III studies as a global project manager and monitor. Most people see one part of how a medicine gets made. Justin has seen all three. The views here are his own and do not represent any employer or sponsor.
What you'll find here. Free patient resources, like medical history logs and symptom and medication logs you can hand to your doctor. The Skeptic's Toolkit, a simple set of questions for pressure testing any health claim. Field guides and gear for people who would rather ask better questions than pick a side. And Junior Researchers, for curious kids. It all rests on one idea: show people how to think it through, not what to conclude because Root to Rx rests under Open Label Media LLC, emphasizing a clinical trial term, Open-Label that means nothing is hidden.
This is education, not medical advice. Root to Rx helps you understand research and ask sharper questions. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace the clinicians who know your case. Always bring your decisions back to them.
